No vague answers. Here is what we charge, what we cover, and how we work.
How much is a service call?
$89. That covers the trip and the diagnosis. Before we do any repair work you get a written, itemized price, and nothing starts until you approve it.
Do you charge more for nights, weekends or holidays?
Yes. After hours, weekend and holiday calls cost more than a standard weekday visit. If you are a maintenance plan member you receive a discount on that charge.
Will you give me a price before you start?
Always. You approve the price in writing first. We do not begin work and hand you a surprise at the end.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through Wells Fargo, for jobs up to $25,000. The application is quick and does not affect your credit score.
What warranty comes with a repair?
One year on parts and labor.
What warranty comes with a new system?
Installations include a one year labor warranty, and we can extend labor coverage up to ten years. The equipment carries the manufacturer's own warranty, which we register for you. Ask us for the options when you get your quote.
What if I am not satisfied?
We come back and make it right. That is our satisfaction guarantee and it is not conditional on you arguing for it.
What are your hours?
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for emergency service. Outside those hours our emergency line is answered by a person, not voicemail.
What counts as an emergency?
No heat in winter, no cooling in extreme heat, a gas smell, a water leak from your system, or anything you believe is unsafe. If you are not sure, call us and we will help you decide.
What areas do you serve?
We are headquartered in Kearney and serve the Kansas City metro, including Liberty, Holt, Smithville, Excelsior Springs, Lawson, Lathrop, Kansas City, Independence, Gladstone and Parkville.
How do I know whether to repair or replace?
If your system is over 12 to 15 years old, needs repeated repairs, or uses R-22 refrigerant, replacement usually costs less over time. Under 10 years with a single failed part, repair is almost always the better value. We will show you the failed component and the test readings and give you both prices so you can decide.
Will you try to sell me a new system I do not need?
No. If your system has life left in it we will tell you so and fix it. We are also happy to give a second opinion if another company has told you that you need a full replacement.
Is a bigger system better?
No, and this matters. An oversized system short cycles, never dehumidifies properly, and wears out early. A replacement should start with a load calculation for your actual home, not by reading the label on your old unit.
What brands do you service?
All major brands, including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and American Standard. We are an American Standard dealer.
Are your technicians certified?
Yes. We have NATE certified technicians.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold active Missouri contractor license LIC-08-22-0063, and we carry general liability and workers compensation insurance. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. Every replacement that requires a permit gets one, and we schedule the inspection. Our permit history across the Kansas City metro is public record.
Is a maintenance plan worth it?
For most homeowners, yes. It catches small problems before they become no-heat calls, keeps the manufacturer warranty valid, and members get a discount on after hours charges. Ask us what is included.
How often should I change my filter?
Every three months for a standard one inch filter, more often if you have pets or allergies. A clogged filter is one of the most common causes of the service calls we get.
Call (816) 258-2056 and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you guess.
