Kearney is our home town. Our shop is at 104 S Jefferson Street, and we have completed more than 10,000 jobs here since 1999 - close to half of all the work this company has ever done.
That includes over 2,000 service calls and nearly 1,000 homes on a maintenance plan. If you live in Kearney, there is a good chance we have already been in your neighborhood this month, and a fair chance we have been in your house.
Kearney has grown fast, and the housing reflects it. The subdivisions built through the 2000s are now hitting the age where original equipment starts to fail. We see a lot of first replacements here: 15 to 25 year old builder grade furnaces and air conditioners that have reached the end of a normal service life rather than anything unusual going wrong.
Older properties closer to the center of town bring different work, often ductwork that was added or modified over the years and never rebalanced.
Because we are local, we can usually get to a Kearney address quickly, and our trucks are stocked for the equipment we know is in these houses.
"We had a heat pump fail during one of the hottest and most humid days of the year, and on a Sunday no less. We called Shanks and they had a tech out within a couple of hours. Colby spent another hour or so out in the sun and the heat repairing the system, but had us up and going again that afternoon. It's this kind of service that keeps us coming back to Shanks."
- Russ D., Kearney
"Called Shanks on a Sunday morning on one of the hottest days of the summer. Our ac was not blowing cold air. Scotty came out and fixed it right away. We are grateful for their quick service and motivations along the way. Bought the service program."
- Cheryl P., Kearney
"Roger was quick to solve our furnace issues and very professional and polite. Shanks sent Roger out promptly after our call at no extra charge within 2 hours!! Awesome service."
- Jesse J., Kearney
"Our AC finally gave up after 22 years on a Friday evening. They came out went over our options and we decided a new unit would be best. While we waited for a Monday morning installation they managed to do a few things to keep the old unit working long enough to keep us comfortable."
- Andrea J., Kearney

If your system is over 12 to 15 years old, needs repeated repairs, or uses R-22 refrigerant, replacement usually costs less over time. Under 10 years with a single failed part, repair is almost always the better value. We will show you the failed component and the test readings and give you both prices.
